Shefki Kuqi returned to haunt Crystal Palace as his early goal helped Swansea to a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park.
The Finnish international slotted under Julian Speroni on 14 minutes after Lee Hills lost Nathan Dyer down the right.
Swansea were comfortable in the first half and Palace rarely threatened, their best chance being a tame Alan Lee header straight at Dorus De Vries.
The Eagles were better in the second half but for all their effort they created very little and Andrea Orlandi almost put Swansea 2-0 up but was thwarted by Speroni.
Darren Ambrose flashed an effort wide when perhaps he should have done better but that was as good as it got for Palace.
Shaun Derry was lucky to escape a two-footed lunge in Kuqi that went unpunished, as did a similar offence by Calvin Andrew on Darren Pratley.
It was a bad night for Palace as wins for Reading, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday saw them slip to 19th, a point above the drop zone.
