A serial fundraiser has collected more than £1,000 for sick children by tackling a festive challenge.
John Dodd walked from outside Christmas Cottage in East Thornton Road, Wimbledon, to the village of Christmas Common in Oxfordshire. This week he revealed the stunt had raised £1,100 for children’s charity the Starlight Foundation.
He set out on Christmas Eve and arrived at his destination eight days later. The Haslemere Road resident, who has completed other charity walks from Merton to destinations including Yorkshire and Scotland, made the entire journey of about 50 miles dressed in a Santa suit.
