Residents of Knight's Hill and St Leonard’s wards will be the first to benefit from free energy audits being offered by Lambeth Council.
The council believes it can help cut energy bills by up to £300 per household, per year.
Those over 65 or in receipt of income or disability benefits are also eligible, regardless of where they live in the borough.
As well as carrying out the audit the advisors can suggest lifestyle changes to help reduce energy use and can refer householders to any grant and discount schemes they may be eligible for.
Up to 1,374 homes are expected to benefit during the year-long project, although it is only available to those in privately rented or owned homes.
The audits are being carried out in partnership with the Greater London Energy Efficiency Network (Gleen) and will be available until January 31, 2011 To book an appointment, call Gleen on 0800 652 3158.
