Trinity Hospice and Clapham Manor primary school have both been shortlisted for the Civic Trust Awards.
The awards aim to encourage projects of benefit to the local community and to recognise the best in architecture, design, planning, landscape and public art.
Trinity Hospice is recognised for its successful integration of historic and contemporary buildings, with the school also combining old with new for the benefit of the local community.
Lambeth Councillor Lib Peck, cabinet member for housing and regeneration said: "Lambeth is home to some architectural treasures and this is the second consecutive year that local projects have been short listed in the Civic Trust Awards.
"I look forward to seeing how these two schemes fare at the winners’ ceremony on March 12."
The shortlist for 2010 includes 44 projects from across the UK, Ireland and Spain and the awards ceremony will be held at St George's Hall in Liverpool.
