A Weybridge man is competing to become a “virtual” racing car champion, after reaching the finals of national competition this month.
Chris Stott, 32, will compete at the national finals of GT Academy 2010, to be held at Brands Hatch circuit on Wednesday, February 17, where he will compete against 19 other people in the Sony Playstation 3 racing simulation game Gran Turismo.
The two fastest “drivers” will then go through to the next phase of the competition - a boot camp at Silverstone, where they will join gamers from across the world - but this time in real cars.
If Chris gets through each stage of the competition, he could eventually find himself competing a full season in the European GT4 Cup, driving a Nissan 370Z.
