Extra-large leaflets designed to be read by drunken town centre revellers have formed a key part of a police operation targeting late night alcohol-fuelled disorder at Kingston transports hubs.
Operation Martin has resulted in five arrests, a warning for possession of cannabis and one person being removed from a bus since it was launched on January 20.
Police are hoping for extra funding from Transport for London to extend it to the end of the month.
The scheme involves an extra sergeant and six police constables patrolling the town centre three nights a week, between 10pm and 4am.
Inspector Iain Lewis of the Safer Transport Team said: “We have been offering advice to bus users on which bus to take and not to use mini cabs. We use special leaflets that are extra big to make sure people can use it when they are drunk.”
