Stiliyan Petrov's late header denied Crystal Palace a spot in the FA Cup quarter finals as they drew 2-2 with Aston Villa at Selhurst Park.
Johnny Ertl's first goal for the club put the Eagles ahead after 24 minutes when he headed in Darren Ambrose's corner from close range.
The lead lasted only 12 minutes though as James Collins got in front of Clint Hill to head home Stewart Downing's free kick.
Julian Speroni denied substitute John Carew just after the break before Ambrose thundered a free kick home from 36 yards to put Palace in front again.
Ambrose hit the crossbar before Speroni spectacularly thwarted Carew.
It was another set-piece that was to be the Eagles undoing though.
Speroni's save from Carew seemed to come back off a Villa man but referee Kevin Friend gave a corner that Petrov headed home with three minutes left.
The replay will give the money men at Selhurst Park a smile and if Palace do get through they will face an away tie at either Reading or West Brom.
