A former policeman accused of perverting the course of justice in the Daniel Morgan murder investigation has had his trial stayed.
Sidney Fillery, a 63-year-old former detective sergeant who now lives in Norfolk had been on bail but has now been discharged.
He had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
On March 10 1987, Mr Morgan, a 37-year-old private investigator, was found with an axe in his head outside the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham.
Four other men are due to be appear at the Old Bailey in September charged with Mr Morgan’s murder.
