Darren Ambrose wants Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock to ignore the overtures of Queens' Park Rangers and stay at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles' top scorer has reignited his career under Warnock, scoring 16 goals so far this season, but with Warnock unhappy at the way Palace went into administration rumours are abound he could walk out of the club.

"Absolutely I want him to stay, he has put a lot of faith in me," said Ambrose.

"I want to be here and I want him to be the manager when I am here so hopefully the QPR links are just rumours.

"He is a one-off, a one-of-a-kind manager and personally he has helped me a lot and lets me play how I want to play.

"I am enjoying football again, as is every player here.

"What has happened in recent weeks has brought us all closer together, staff included, and he is the main man."

Against Aston Villa on Sunday, Ambrose scored his second goal in three games with a thunderous 36-yard free kick and though he was pleased with the strike, he admitted Villa's controversial late leveller left a sour taste in the dressing room after.

"That's probably one of my favourite goals this season and in my career," he said.

"I felt confident so I just hit it and it went in the right place and I was delighted.

"If you said before the game we would get a replay we would be relatively pleased with that but we held our own against them.

"With three minutes to go I felt we were in the quarter-finals and we are just all devastated in the manner.

""We are very disappointed with the decision which I think has been made clear.

"It was a clear goal kick but that happens in football, them decisions go against you and we have to go and do it again."
