Police have arrested a man in connection with the south Norwood murder of builder Mark Corcoran.
Mr Corcoran, a 26-year-old builder from Shirley, was stabbed to death on Valentine's Day night after attending a friend's wedding.
Police were called to Subitha Food and Wine at 8.20pm on February 14 after Mr Corcoran staggered in to the shop with stab wounds.
Despite atempts by paramedics to treat him at the scene he died at 9pm.
A man in his 40s believed to live locally was arrested by police this afternoon and taken to a south London police station.
Murder squad detectives were yesterday attempting to piece together the last few hours of Mark Corcoran’s life.
Detective chief inspector, Cliff Lyons, investigating, said: “We know Mark was at a wedding in the afternoon on Valentines day.
“So far we have not been able to identify where the wedding or the reception was and would like to speak to anyone that attended either.
“We know that Mark didn't attend the Palace match, however he was seen outside and was in and out of the Subitha Food and Wine shop.
"At around 8.20pm, still in the area and outside the football stadium, he entered the same shop and asked for help.
"He collapsed on the floor of the shop."
“We would like to speak to three people who were in the shop at the time, two black men and a black woman, although there is no suggestion they are suspects.
“They are potential witnesses who may have seen events outside.
“We are appealing for any information on Mr Corcoran's movements before and after this happened as well as anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the vicinity.”
Police are also investigating the importance of a black Range Rover with tinted windows seen hanging around in a nearby side road around the time of the murder.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4957 or contact crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
