A teenage apprentice will be jetting off on a fundraising trip to Las Vegas after making himself indispensible to his bosses.

John Hughes, 18, was one of the first names on the invitation list to the transatlantic spectacular, which his company Maris Interiors hopes will raise up to £70,000 for life threatened and terminally ill children.

Fellow business development apprentice Rochelle Jarman will be joining Mr Hughes, who lives in Croydon, on the trip after both impressed on the Intraining scheme.

He said: “I really hope we can raise a lot of money for the Rainbow Trust. It is such a good cause and will be a lot of fun, so Vegas here we come.”
