A Walton man has started training for this year’s London Marathon, where he hopes to raise money for a charity that helps children with disabilities.
Gordon Newlands, who lives in Kings Road, wants to raise as much as he can on Sunday, April 25, for the Children’s Trust, based in Tadworth.
The trust offers it patients help in an environment where they are treated as children first and disabled second.
Mr Newlands said: “This is my second London Marathon and I wanted to do it for a children’s charity. I chose the Children’s Trust because I know that I will be helping to improve the lives of some very special children. I first ran London in 2000, aged 30, and now, a decade later, I have recovered enough to try it again.”
