The company in charge of Lambeth's council housing stock says it is ploughing millions of pounds of savings into improving tenants homes.
Lambeth Living said it has saved more than £5m since it began using the London Housing Consortium (LHC) - a public sector consortium designed to improve the procurement of building materials and services.
The company said it is striving to bring its properties up to the Government set Decent Homes Standards, and claims using the LHC enables work to be carried out more quickly and efficiently than by traditional tendering routes.
It was rewarded with an LHC Project of the Year award this February, in respect of a window replacement scheme it carried out on two estates in the borough.
