Half-term discos marked the first year of community play rangers in Elmbridge.

In the past 12 months, rangers have provided free after-school play sessions for children across the borough.

They offer activities such as football, arts and crafts, den building, skipping, parachute games and cricket to keep young people busy.

To celebrate they held discos in Hersham, Long Ditton, Esher, Molesey and Lower Green throughout the week.

Councillor Jan Fuller said: “Our community play rangers have been offering fantastic play opportunities for children and young people in the borough and we are delighted to be celebrating their first birthday.

“We are grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for helping us achieve this great project which is going from strength to strength.”
