A free educational conference is being held to raise parents’ awareness about internet and mobile phone safety for children.
The e-safety event will be on Saturday, March 27, at the Battersea Arts Centre and will give tips on how to teach children about the internet, mobile phones and other digital technology.
Research suggests one in five youngsters have accessed harmful or inappropriate material on the internet and a third think their parents are not aware of what they are doing online.
Almost two-thirds of under-tens own a mobile phone.
The event is being organised by the Wandsworth Primary Play Association (WPPA), with the support of the Wandsworth Safeguarding Children Board (WSCB).
Speakers will include Childnet International, the Metropolitan Police, Orange Mobile and Internet Provider and a local ICT consultant.
To book a place at the free event between 9.30am and 12.30pm, contact the organisers before Friday, March 12.
