You arrive home from school to find a note on the table with instructions for a microwave meal, how surprisingly normal! Your parents are working late once again and you are left to fend for yourself. With your dad’s big promotion and mum’s hectic schedule, family time seems a distant memory.
For many students this is the lifestyle they step into everyday with their parents finding it hard to take time out from their busy careers to ‘hang out’ with their children. There is one lucky student however whose life is filled with family fun. Jessica Young lives with her brother and parents; Dave Young has a very demanding job which involves constant attention and Paula has a part time job as a teacher and finds that much of her time is taken up by marking and parent evenings.
Despite their manic careers the Young’s put family fun to the top of their priorities creating a fantastic home environment. One way they ensure this happens is by involving the whole family in community plays with their local church. The plays involve late night rehearsals and provide the public with a high quality production every year. Jessica even won a Swan award for her performance in one of the plays she acted in.
The Young family always give 100% dedication to their performances, while spending quality time with their children. Their constant bonding and love are something that other families should admire.
