An Australian businessman is reportedly considering a bid for Crystal Palace and may turn them in to the English Socceroos.
Reports in the Herald Sun, in Melbourne, suggest Peter Jess, a leading Australian Football League agent and former owner of Carlton Soccer Club, is part of a consortium of Australians preparing a bid for the Eagles.
Selhurst Park would then become the home ground for Australia's national team with Socceroos players and coaches given the chance to join the club.
Jess was quoted in the paper as saying: “There is such huge support for the English Premier League in Australia it would be great to garner it in a public structure where mums and dads could join Australian multinational businesses with a platform in Europe.”
The investors are said to want to establish the ownership cartel as a public company in Australia so that supporters could buy shares on the Australian Stock Exchange.
