It's that time of year again when Steyne Gardens in Worthing is covered in ice - quite literally. I am referring to the annual temporary ice rink that is set up every February for the whole of Worthing to enjoy. Budding skaters take to the ice constantly hoping to be the next English figure skating champion. Whilst us mere humans shuffle tediously on the ice looking out for the next barrier to hold on to! This year the rink has been more crowded than ever. I asked the mananger of Worthing Ice Skating Asscoiation why he thinks this is, "Conveniently the 2010 Winter Olympics has taken place during the time of the rink. This has encouraged more people to come on the ice and have a go at the olympic sports for themselves." A logical explanation of course.
I just hope that when I go ice skating on Friday that it won't be too crowded. The fewer people that see me fall the better!!
