Police searching for a missing teenage couple are investigating reports they may be in Mitcham.

Officers are appealing for information after Liam Carl Taylor, 16, ran from his carers in Telford shopping centre two weeks ago.

He is thought to be with his girlfriend Stacey Cudworth, 17, and was last reported to be in Mitcham.

A West Mercia police spokesman said: “We are very keen to find Liam because he is under the care of Social Services and should not have gone off on his own.

"We have had reported sightings of Liam in Mitcham, Surrey but now believe he could be in the north east where some members of his family live.

“We have concerns about how Liam is sustaining himself while he is missing because we cannot be sure that either he, or Stacey, have any direct access to money of their own.”

Liam is described as white, about 5ft 5ins, of medium build with light brown, spiked hair. He speaks with a Geordie accent, has size eight feet and was wearing an Adidas tracksuit and grey trainers when he went missing.
