We could soon hear the sound that creates a tremble in our knees and turns are legs to jelly. Oh yes the dinosaurs are back, but not just one, approximately 30 at the height of three foot two inches. Except these little dinosaurs hold human features and call themselves the boys and girls of St Pauls School.
The primary school located in Brentford have organised a sponsored walk around St Pauls Park where the year two children will dress up in dinosaur costumes trying to raise money to purchase a Virtual Dinosaur. The walk has been organised due to their topic of study which is ‘Every Child Matters’ and is linked to developing economic awareness. The virtual Dinosaur holds the ordinal name of Pleo is offered by a site called Pleo World. The Pleo is sent to schools as a newly hatched Camarasaurus and over long periods of time it grows and experiences feelings of hunger, has thoughts and can make decisions. The dinosaur allows young children to visualise how a dinosaur grows and inhabits in nature giving children a higher and deeper understanding of not only dinosaurs but creation in general.
This Dinosaur will give the young children of St Pauls an amazing opportunity, which many schools are unable to offer so please get involved and make a donation towards the fund. The sponsored walk will take part on the 5th March 2010 and any donations made would be extremely appreciated.
