Community groups, celebrities, politicians and residents gathered together on Saturday with one goal in mind - Celebrating Streatham.
The event, held at Dunraven school, was organised to mark the retirement of Streatham MP Keith Hill by bringing together and celebrating the continued achievements of the area’s organisations and residents.
It included Streatham Presents, a talent contest judged by Mercury Music Prize winner Speech Debelle, Streets singer Leo Ihenanco and Mr Hill.
Dancer Jerayle, of Urban Sport Life, won the contest after impressing the audience with his moves. He will now get the chance to record a music video with the Generation Next Foundation and was asked by Debelle to feature in her next video.
Other highlights of Celebrating Streatham included a traditional stick dance performed by the Lambeth Asian Centre and a number of songs and poems by Gloria Bailey MBE's Make a Difference Group.
Businesses, community groups and charities also set up stalls on the day.
Hayley Rea, who set up the Aimhigher Dance Academy which performed at the Streatham Presents contest, said the event had boosted the confidence of the performers, while Charles Young, chair of Clapham Youth Centre, said the event had brought everyone together.
Artist Conrad Armstrong, whose painting of Streatham Common was used on the promotional posters for the event, added: "Streatham is really diverse, and I think this event is a really good idea - it should be built on and encouraged."
Event organiser Chuka Umunna, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Streatham, said he would hold the event every year if elected.
He added: "It's been fantastic to bring the community together and take pride in our area. The day reflected the vibrancy of Streatham and the fact we are blessed with so many talented performers."
