Sutton Schools U11s beat Hackney 1-0 in their Southern Counties Cup tie on Saturday.
Sutton took a fifth-minute lead when Billy Morcombe headed home Ryan Healy’s corner.
From then on, Sutton had to dig deep, but their defence was rarely doubled as they made it five clean sheets in a row.
South West Trains player of the match was Alex Bannister for a striker’s display of energy and spirit.
Sutton will visit Dacorum in the next round, while this Saturday they face Luton in a Southern League game at Mill Lane (10.30am).
