A 29-year-old man from Croydon has been arrested for perverting the course of justice after a traffic collision left a cyclist in a “life-threatening” condition.
The cyclist was knocked off his bike by a white Ford Transit van, which was abandoned shortly after the smash early on February 28.
Police also arrested a 43-year-old man and 42-year-old woman for perverting the course of justice following the collision in Ingatestone, Essex.
All three have been released on police bail until March 10.
The cyclist was initially described as having suffered “life-threatening injuries” but is now in a stable condition in hospital.
Officers are still hunting for a man and two women who are believed to have been in the van at the time of the collision.
It is believed they were seen running near the town’s railway station.
