A new-look bright and spacious Tooting Library was unveiled last week after its £3m refurbishment.
The modernised building, which attracts more than 500,000 visitors a year, now features a more efficient heating and lighting system, upgraded toilet facilities, and a lift that has access to all floors of the library.
It also has a new room equipped with public computers.
The renovation was financed with a combination of grant money from the Big Lottery Fund and capital from Wandsworth Council.
Wandsworth Council’s environment and leisure spokesman, Councillor, Sarah McDermott said: "This modernised new-look library is sure to prove successful with people of all ages in Tooting..
"This investment has delivered a much more welcoming and user-friendly library.
"It is a fantastic new facility in the heart of the town centre. The improvements are bound to keep it at the top of the league table as the borough’s most visited library."
