A new community centre in New Malden will welcome Princess Anne to officially launch a fresh hope for some of Kingston’s most vulnerable people.
Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, will visit Kingston Carers’ Network to officially open their new premises in the Noble Centre, Blagdon Road, at 11am on Friday, March 12, where she will unveil a plaque in commemoration.
As President of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Princess Anne will meet local unpaid adult and young carers in Kingston who are receiving support from the centre.
John Mays, chairman at Kingston Carers’ Network, said: “It is an honour to receive such a prestigious visit from Princess Anne.
“The carers and staff are very excited about meeting her. We hope that her visit will highlight all the support services we offer to carers in the area.”
During the visit, Princess Anne will be greeted by Kingston’s mayor, Councillor Ian McDonald, as well as members of Kingston Primary Care Trust.
The centre was officially opened on January 12 and is dedicated to the Promoting Independent People Services scheme for the borough’s elderly and disabled residents.
