Paul Hart says he won't be making sweeping changes to Crystal Palace's training regime after winning his first game as manager.

Alan Lee's volley secured a much-needed 1-0 win over promotion-chasing Sheffield United at Selhurst Park on Saturday But having only had only three days with his new squad and a hectic period of matches that sees the Eagles play 10 games in 30 days, the former Portsmouth boss has had little time to stamp his mark at the training ground.

"We haven't had much time to work with them," he said.

"We are not going to come in and make massive sweeping changes though, that would be foolhardy.

"We just try to help as that's what we are here for.

"Everybody wants to keep this club in this division and I think there is going to be some ups and downs.

"It's hard when you are down there, the players and supporters have not done much wrong but they are there and we have to stay strong."

One thing Hart has worked on is getting more support to lone front man Lee and on Saturday named Calvin Andrew in the same starting eleven as the striker for the first time this season.

"When you play 4-3-3 it's very difficult to get good support to your main striker but I thought Calvin did really well," he said.

"Like I said, we have not done an awful lot of work this week but we want to get more support to Alan and Calvin worked his pants off.

"We thought his pace and energy and the fact he is a big brave lad would cause them problems going in behind and he might have got a goal with a couple of chances.

"From the minute I came in the way the players behaved and spoke told me they were a strong bunch and I think they went out there and proved it on Saturday.

"I was absolutely delighted for them and I thought their performance was excellent."
