The Easter story is to be given a hip-hop twist by young people at a Streatham Vale church.
They have been awarded a grant by the Church of England to put-on an R&B night at the Holy Redeemer Church in Churchmore Road.
Dying to Live? - that will feature local religious hip-hop group The Rescued among other artists - is due to take place in the parish hall on Friday, March 19 at 8pm.
Rosie Andrews, one of the young people to get the grant, said: “Young people often think church is boring and Easter is about chocolate and chickens; we wanted to put on an Easter event young people will relate to.”
