Teenagers at St Andrew’s Church of England school will be exploring the modern obsession with the quest for fame in a new musical Starstruck.
More than 150 students will be treading the boards, featuring famous dance numbers, scenes and songs from TV, movies and musical theatre.
Those in the lead roles all had to go though a nerve wracking audition in front of a panel made up of staff and their fellow pupils before they were given a place in the Show.
Sarah Coop, Head of Music, said: "Although we didn't have anyone quite as tough as Simon Cowell on our panel, there were still tears, both of happiness and sadness during the auditions.
“This year's show is all about that quest for fame and the highs and lows that people experience on that journey. It's a musical exploration and celebration of a very modern obsession."
Starstruck takes place from March 10 to 12 at 7.30pm in the school hall.
