Julian Speroni: Beaten by a super strike and made, what for him, were some run-of-the-mill saves. His positioning at the moment is excellent. 7
Danny Butterfield: Always gave Palace an option at right back but wasn't given the time to put in as many crosses as usual. 7
Matt Lawrence: Possibly should have done better than head Fontaine's throw in up in the air for Iwelumo to score but was solid otherwise and City found it hard to break him down. 7
Clint Hill: Super performance. He put his body on the line time and time again, blocking at least three goal bound shots. Had the beating of Iwelumo in the air too which is no easy feat. Man of the match. 8
Nathaniel Clyne: Like the rest of the team he suffered from lapses in concentration but tried to get forward when he could. City did well at closing him down though, just like they did with Butterfield. 6
Shaun Derry: Provided plenty of movement but three times in the first half he was caught on the ball and dispossessed - mostly because no one was moving for him. He always fought to get it back though. 7
Johnny Ertl: Not his best performance in a Palace shirt and he was pretty anonymous in truth. 5
Nick Carle: His ability on the ball provided the one spark Palace had going forward as he again tried to get it down and play football. Decision to take him off was booed. 7
Darren Ambrose: Another quiet game though he worked harder than Saturday. Taken off after a hefty challenge on his ankle in the second half. 6
Calvin Andrew: Desperately needs a goal. Twice last night he was through but dwelt too long on the ball and got tackled. Crossing was dreadful too. 5
Alan Lee: Looked tired after his efforts on Saturday and lacked movement up front. Should have done better with header at the start of the second half. 6
Subs:
Neil Danns (Ambrose, 68): Good to see him back as Palace desperately need his energy but he failed to make a difference. 6
Stern John (Carle, 80): Palace fans welcomed his return but he had no impact at all. 5.
