A van driver who collided with a bus was discharged from hospital but died just days after from multiple organ failure.
Russell Bishop, 38, was involved in a crash with the 407 bus at 9.30am on February 28, at the Wellesley Road junction with Park Street in Croydon.
The bus was travelling south on Wellesley Road and was turning right into Park Street when a VW Caddy van, travelling north on Park Lane, collided with it.
Mr Bishop, of Mitcham, was taken by ambulance to Mayday Hospital with head and chest injuries.
However, he was discharged, believed to be later that day.
On March 3, he felt unwell and was re-admitted to Mayday Hospital.
He died on March 5.
A post-mortem carried out at Croydon mortuary on March 9 gave cause of death as multiple organ failure due to blunt force traumas to the chest.
An inquest is set to open and adjourn at Croydon Coroner's Court.
Any witnesses - particularly any passengers on the bus - are asked to contact DS Paul Sanders at the Collision Investigation Unit at Catford on 020 8285 1574.
