CORINTHIAN CASUALS 0 WORTHING 4

Corinthian Casuals struggled to contain a Worthing side brimming with confidence as the visitors showed the kind of form that supported their lofty position in Ryman Division One South.

Casuals actually started the game more positvely than their opponents and looked to take the game to their high-flying opposition - Tyrone Myton seeing his acrobatic overhead-kick whistle past the keepers right hand post after just five minutes.

But Worthing settled and, on 13 minutes, a Luke Denton long throw was allowed to bounce in the Casual's six-yard box and Ben Williamson was left to nod the visitors into the lead with a header at the far post.

Williamson doubled his and his side's tally on 21 minutes after a 50/50 tackle on the edge on the Causals area fell kindly for the striker to raid down on Luke Naughton - his shot was too hot to handle for the Casuals number one and Worthing were seemingly in control.

Casuals were rightly furious at the officials, however, for not spotting two blatent handballs in the build-up to the visitors' second.

Yet this injustice seemed to spur on the hosts who were not to go down easily.

Kane Sergeant somehow saw his curling left-footed effort saved by the Worthing keeper, after Scott Hassell's brilliantly timed ball found the striker though on goal.

Sergeant had time to look up and place his shot accurately past the keeper but an outstretched arm kept the visitors two goal cushion intact.

From the resulting corner, Wayne Finnie's header was headed off the line by the covering Ben Johnsone- so 0-2 it remained at the interval.

Casuals found themselves down to 10 men 15 minutes from time after Naughton was adjudged to have brought down Jamie Brotherton in the box in a goalmouth scramble - Brotherton dusted himself down to slot home the resulting penalty to make it 0-3.

And, in the 90th minute, Ben Johnson rounded things off with a fourth to send Worthing - and their boisterous supporters - ahead of Folkestone to the summit of Ryman Divsion One South.
