A fundraising cyclist is looking for help to beat the bike thieves and raise more than £1,000 for a great cause.
Chantelle Donald, from Colliers Wood, has signed up for a charity pedal to Paris later this year.
But after falling victim to bicycle thieves six times in seven years, she does not have a set of wheels that will last the distance - and so is appealing for someone to sell or lend her a bicycle for the event.
Miss Donald’s London to Paris ride will take place from July 14 to 18 and raise money for the University College London Hospitals Charitable Foundation. Her first fundraising target is to raise £1,040 by April 21.
The 33-year-old Alphea Road resident, who also works for the hospitals as a project administrator, is a veteran of charity challenges - having run in Hyde Park and Hampton Court Palace and cycled from London to Brighton to raise money for good causes in the past.
She said: “I enjoy the buzz of taking part in the events which are always great fun and if you believe in the charity you're raising money for, even better.”
