A new residents’ association is hoping to bring the community closer together after winning a £1,600 grant.
The Norbury Village Residents Association(NVRA) plans to use the money to come up with solutions to crime, litter and fly-tipping as well as bringing people together.
Homes in the Stanford Rd, Abingdon Rd and London Rd area are all covered by the new association, which was awarded the grant through Croydon Voluntary Action(CVA).
Acting chairman Rhona Fairbairn said: “We are grateful that CVA shares our ambitions for Norbury North.
“It is so exciting that we are now at a point where positive things are going to happen rather than just being talked about.”
A launch event for the new association is due to be held between noon and 2pm at Norbury Manor Primary School on March 20.
Rhona said: “It presents a great opportunity for neighbours with different perspectives who rarely ever get a chance to meet to get together.”
