Banstead Athletic 4 Colliers Wood United 0
This match started slowly on a clear night at Merland Rise, before Banstead went on to record their biggest win of the season against Colliers Wood Utd, writes Bob Lockyer.
The final score could have been more had the As not wanted to take extra touches before shooting.
The partnership of Mu Maan and new arrival Zak Graham up front is taking shape.
The passing and movement was good from Banstead, although they did get caught a few times but managed to defend well, not allowing Woods too many chances, although they did cause a few problems.
On 26 minutes, Graham sent a free-kick from the right into the United area, Dave Hawkins trapping the ball, turning and firing a shot past the keeper into the right-hand corner.
Maan and Alistair John between them carved through United's defence but had the shot saved by the keeper.
On 31 minutes, a neat move between Jelly and Graham allowed a pass to Maan, who finished neatly to make the score 2-0.
A free-kick to Woods just outside the area went over the wall but was saved comfortably by Rouse, the As keeper.
Second half started with As making a change, Leon Wallace coming on for Ross Chalke.
Colliers Wood made a sub on 56 minutes as Melloul came on for Humphries but, a minute later, it was 3-0, with Maan scoring his second goal.
Banstead had chances to increase their lead but poor finishing didn't help.
Substitutions were made on both sides. A debut for As' new signing Ally Dewer and a goal with an assist from Maan.
There was no way back then for Colliers Wood. A small blot on the evening's very good performance was a booking for Stefan Martin for not retreating 10 yards at a free-kick, but not even that could take the gloss off a comprehensive win for Banstead in their quest to keep moving up the table.
Hawkins said: " It was pleasing we won, kept a clean sheet, we are starting to look like a team. The partnership up front looks promising."
Rouse added: " We were well organised, the spirit, communication is good in the side at the moment.
"It is helpful to have Hawks alongside Chris at the back, looks good - the only time we struggled was when we panicked through our own mistakes, which we will put right."
Banstead: Rouse, Patterson, Jelly, Sammut, Davidson, Hawkins, Chalke, Quintyne, Graham, Maan, John, Wallace, Martin, Dewer, Brady, Amis.
