Hundreds of south London schoolchildren showed off their Brazilian martial art skills in Crystal Palace.
Some 600 children took part in the Schools Capoeira Championship at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Friday.
Capoeira, that incorporates dance, acrobatics, self-defence and music, was developed in Brazil over 500 years ago by slaves training to fight their masters, but who wanted to fool their captors the fighting style was actually a dance.
The children took part in workshops and competitions, and watched a special performance by experts from the South American country.
