loan sharks pressuring people into borrowing money at huge interest rates are being targeted by trading standards.
The special project marks the second anniversary of a London-wide campaign to stamp out illegal money lending in the capital.
Average borrowing from loan sharks in London is between £3,500 and £5,000, compared to about £150 nationwide.
Councillor Gavin Barwell, cabinet member for safety and cohesion said: “Our residents need to know that there is advice and support available to them if they find themselves involved with these loan sharks.
“It might be difficult to come forward, but I hope that once people know about the help the team can provide them they will seek out their assistance.”
