Twickenham Paralympic skier Tim Farr reckons disqualification in the men’s Giant Slalom will only spur him on to greater heights in four years time.
The 27-year-old, making his Games debut, finished 15th after the second run in his favoured event in Vancouver on Tuesday, but his time was later chalked off after starting one second ahead of schedule.
It followed his world ranking defying 20th place in the slalom on Sunday having seen bad weather earlier in the week force his races to be re-scheduled.
The 2014 Games will be held at Sochi, Russia, and Farr reckons he will move heaven and earth to be there again.
“My world ranking is in the 40s, so to get two top 20 finishes in my first Paralympics is pretty pleasing,” he said.
“The people who won golds here have been doing that for the last eight or 12 years and it gives me a good benchmark of where I need to be next time.
“The disqualification was frustrating as the mistake made no difference to my time. I got carried away in the moment and just started too soon. They caught a lot of people out like that.
“I know in my mind I was 15th fastest down the course, which is all I need to know and will always stay with me.
“I’ve loved every second of the experience and without a doubt the road to Sochi starts here.”
