Old Meadonians kept their outside hopes of landing the Amateur Football Combination title alive with a hard-earned point at league leaders Belonians.
They managed a draw despite the third-minute dismissal of striker Colin Hawkins, who retalliated to a late tackle.
But Meads took the lead after 10 minutes when Alex Jones made it four goals in four games since returning from injury, taking Dwayne Rhone’s lay-back and scoring from the edge of the box.
Meads then defended stoutly until a brief lapse in concentration allowed Beals to equalise in the 70th minute.
Ten minutes from time, Jack Costello nearly won it for Meads but his 20-yard free kick was brilliantly tipped over.
Team: Greening, Glover, Pointer, Palmer, Thompson, Rhone, (Graham), Gerrish, N. Jones, Costello, A. Jones, (Eguae), Hawkins.
