Budding artists from Albemarle Primary School held an exhibition last Wednesday to raise money for a range of charities.
About 30 pupils gathered to produce an art piece which was sold off in a silent auction.
Keiran Patel, teacher, said: “The children were really excited to show off their artwork. The majority was their idea.”
Money from the exhibition, themed around “People in Action”, will go towards a charity chosen by the children.
It started as a simple art project, but because the children were so excited teachers put on an exhibition for their parents, guests and the local community.
The Aubergine Art Gallery in Wimbledon donated art frames to the exhibition.
There was also support from many other local companies, including Canons who gave raffle prize donations.
The pupils were able to take charge of many areas of the exhibition including planning, advertising, finance and catering.
