On Friday 6th of March, Surbiton High School held a mufti day in order to raise money for charity. This was no ordinary school day as the mufti day was also held as it was world book day. This involved all the girls dressing up as their favourite book character. The school was over taken by many Alice in Wonderlands, Oompa Loompas and Vampires to name a few. Not only did the girls dress up but so did many of the teachers! World book Day was the beginning of reading week where many girls undertook various competitions all about books. As well as dressing up the pupils also took part in a school literary quiz created by some of the 6th form. Many of the girls found the quiz a challenge however they enjoyed it a lot. I asked a year 10 pupil at the school how she felt the day went “The day was really fun, apart from getting the odd look on the bus to school! I dressed up as a vampire from Twilight but most of my friends dressed up as characters from the sleepover club and came in pyjamas! I found the teachers dressing up really funny and thought that it was a really fun idea to dress up and raise money for charity.” It looks like Surbiton held another fun day and helped raise money for a worthy cause!
