A rowdy football fan faces a fine after smashing a Kingston pub’s window in a fit of rage, a court was told.
Micky Hunter, 18, from Boreham Wood, pleaded guilty at Kingston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 17, to criminal damage to the Robert Peel Pub, in Kingston Road, after a football match in December.
Stanley Amah, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “Police were called to the rear entrance of the pub and, as they arrived, Mr Hunter threw a glass bottle at the door which smashed the window.”
Pub staff on duty during the incident said a fracas had broken out in the pub after group of young men were asked to leave the pub when they started smoking.
A pub worker, who declined to be named, said: “We don’t usually get any trouble on football match days because there is such a large police presence.
“But sometimes you get young kids who are drunk and that’s what they do because they have no respect.”
Mr Hunter, who is unemployed, was fined a total of £245 for the damages and legal costs.
