The “Sally Army shop” – Salvation Army, Wandsworth High Street, has joined the list of locations where the public can dispose of household batteries.
Batteries that can be found in clocks, calculators, toys, torches, remote controls, laptops, watches and mobiles can be placed in a purpose built bin in the shop located at 199 Wandsworth High Street.
The bin has been in place for just 2 weeks, but is a well received and popular addition to the shop.
“A great idea and a convenient location.”
“Very good, helping the environment.”
“A great idea – more recycling in the community.”
Are just some of the public comments.
This is just another element within the shop to encourage the public to join in the environmental campaign – “Donate Don’t Dump” – and raise awareness that most things that we dispose of can still be used second time around or disposed of in an environmentally sound way.
