Winterbourne Junior School for Boys is closed today (Monday) after the school flooded when thieves stole lead pipes from its roof.
The thieves crept onto the school roof sometime over the weekend and ripped out the pipes, sending water cascading down into the school.
The damage to the school means there is no water supply and it’s boiler is broken down.
Headteacher, Jonathan Barker, said: “Vandals broke in sometime over the weekend and ripped out some of the lead pipes off the roof, which was great to walk into on a Monday morning.
“We have called in plumbers to get it fixed but the school will remain closed until it is sorted as the boiler is now broken and we have no water.”
