A disabled Croydon duck has beaten off competition from across the country to be crowned the winner of an ITV talent show.
Peter the Wingless Duck, finally getting the recognition he deserves, was announced as the winner of the K-Factor, part of Harry Hill’s TV burp.
After months of campaigning by his supporters, including the Croydon Guardian, he was declared the winner of the show on Saturday night.
Peter’s television career was almost cut short after being told he could not enter the knitted competition because he had no wings.
However, with support from his fans and local newspaper, he soared to stardom after 1,000s of people, enraged at the discrimination against him, started Facebook campaigns to have him reinstated on the show.
His creator, Andy Hunt appeared on the show to accept the award.
Mr Hunt said he was: “Astonished, amazed and grateful.”
