A man was shot dead on the Central Hill estate last night.
Police were called at 10.10pm to Oakwood Drive on the estate in Gipsy Hill by the London Ambulance Service.
They found a 22-year-old man with what was believed to be a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the man lived in the area, but a formal identification is yet to take place.
A police spokesman said the shooting could be gang related.
A postmortem examination is due to take place at Greenwich Mortuary this afternoon.
Detectives from Trident South are investigating and have arrested two women and four men on suspicion of murder. They are all in custody at different south London police stations.
