The B and C Grade singles/doubles events took place on Saturday, 6th March, with A and D singles/doubles plus all Semis and Finals on Sunday 7th March.
A third of the players were from Ebbisham with others from Fitness First Camberley, Nuffield Farnham, Purley, RAC, Surbiton, Surrey Health & Racquets Club (Esporta) and Warlingham. Thanks in particular to 4 guys from David Lloyd Southampton and Totton Clubs in Hampshire who made a fun weekend of it staying at a local hotel 5 minutes away and still managing to turn up on time on the second day after a heavy night socialising! Thanks for your support Wayne, Graham, David & Matthew!
All players had at least 3 round-robin matches (best of 3 or 3 straight games, American scoring PAR to 11) in Box Leagues with Semi-Finals (best of 5 games) and then the Finals (best of 5) on the Sunday. Entrants also had the option to take part in Grade Doubles included in the entry fee. Each Final was immediately followed by Presentation of Trophies to all finalists, plus choice of prizes of wine or the new 1-dot hybrid competition Price ball. Thanks to Ebbisham Member Chris Lucas of CARPETWORLD who generously sponsored all the trophies and prizes for all Grade Winners and Runners-up.
Many thanks also to those who supported this new Tournament and, with Racketball increasing in popularity throughout Surrey and nationally, hopefully more Clubs may be willing to organise similar friendly but competitive tournaments like this one....
