The training of dogs for fighting and use as weapons may be widespread in Lambeth, according to a council report.
Evidence shows many of the borough’s trees have had their bark stripped by dogs being trained, according to the ‘action to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour associated with “status” dogs’ report, considered by Lambeth Council’s cabinet on Monday.
Significant amounts of council cash have had to be invested in installing tree guards to protect young trees as a result of the dog’s behaviour. Many young trees have been killed by dogs, it states.
