On Saturday, March 13, a group of Elmbridge youngsters took part in a free beginners/intermediate junior badminton tournament at the Xcel Leisure centre.
The event was the first in a series Give it a Go! sessions taking place between now and the end of April, in preparation of the 2010 Surrey Youth Games.
Councillor James Vickers, mayor of Elmbridge, spent time chatting to the players, aged nine to 11, and their parents.
George Ansell was crowned winner of the boys’ category and Cleo Wisdom won the girls’ tournament.
