Commuters can enjoy a nice, free read on their way to work, thanks to a new book swap scheme at Kingston station.
Councillor Bart Ricketts joined forces with Majeed Neky from Transition Town Kingston to set up the scheme.
South West Trains has agreed to support the mini-library and 100 books have been supplied by Surbiton charity the Fircroft Trust.
The idea is that anyone can borrow a book and return a book when they have read it.
Coun Ricketts said: “We are delighted local bodies have joined forces to support this initiative and feel that it will encourage more commuters to enjoy a good read while commuting from Kingston station.”
