Parliamentary candidates for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields had their say on international development during a hustings in Putney on Monday.
Hosted by the charity, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), the debate examined tackling global poverty ahead of the spring General Election.
Four candidates for the Putney constituency spoke at the event - Justine Greening MP, for the Conservatives, Stuart King, for Labour, James Sandbach, for the Liberal Democrats, and Bruce Mackenzie, for the Green Party.
Putney was chosen for the debate because it hosts VSO’s national headquarters, with 20 per cent of staff living in the constituency.
VSO chief executive, Marg Mayne, said: "I am extremely grateful to our Putney candidates for joining us today.
"VSO currently has 200 staff working in the UK, all of whom are based in Putney.
"Participation and democracy are fundamental values to VSO's work.
"Our volunteers often dedicate themselves to helping people find a way to use their voice.”
